Meditations
Connect with your deeper self.
Take a deep breath in, right down to the depths of your belly. And release an audible sigh. Then simply press play and allow your mind to empty…I photographed this time lapse over the course of a lunar cycle, during an artist's residency in the foothills of the Himalaya (in Uttarakhand, India) in early 2014. Each of the 4,000 frames was shot manually while I spent dozens of blissful hours watching this stunning landscape change with every breath. It never needed to repeat itself. It was my intention to share the peace I felt within it by creating a meditation on this Enchanted Land of Gods. Knowing I wanted to be able to play it on a loop as day faded into night and back again, I couldn’t predetermine how to create the ending - and then a little help was offered from this landscape herself on day 5. Do watch until the end 💗 Everything is constantly changing, passing, transforming, and beginning again. The entire Universe born through a dot as they say in India - and all the light of day beginning in the darkest of skies with the dot of the morning star. With this visual meditation, breath in the peace of life as it dances with us.Music: Written by Jagat Guru Adi Shankracharya, performed by Singers of the Art of Living, the chant is Atmastakam (Chant of Shiva). Lord Shiva is said to reside in the Himalayas, he has a remarkable presence in these mountains.

This meditation will guide you to bring your mind into the grounded space of your hara (a few inches below your naval, this is the space of the womb or sacral chakra) while expanding the energy of your presence as a light from this space. When our mind is aligned with the hara it is grounded into the body and present moment. In Eastern medicine and Reiki, the hara serves as a powerful anchor to focus our awareness and amplify the light of our presence. The crystal singing bowls serve as wisdom keepers for the earth and enhance the grounding + expansiveness you’ll feel during the meditation. Best with headphones.
This is the ideal meditation to chose if you feel anxious, want to reconnect to your power, or are unable to focus in the present moment.
